The Community Exchange Foundation facilitates the redistribution and reuse of value. We strive to keep resources in circulation by reconnecting perfectly good, currently-unused items that would otherwise be discarded to new owners who need them. In doing so, we maximize utility, reduce waste, slow the flow to our landfills, and enhance the overall well-being of the community. Our reconnection movement raises funds that we distribute to improve the quality of life locally and throughout the region.
Our newest project, Harvest Rescue, collects and redistributes to the needy fresh fruits and vegetables from local backyard gardens that would otherwise go to waste. This program addresses not only the optimization of utility and reuse of value, but also works toward solving problems of hunger and nutrition.
The Kids' Exchange, our semi-annual children's consignment sale,
Connects high-quality, no-longer-used children’s items with the very people that need them and are looking for them;
Reduces waste and consumption;
Keeps items out of landfills;
Donates children's clothing, toys and gear to the non-profit organization North Country Ministry located in Warrensburg, New York to help needy citizens; and
Raises funds which are donated to local causes to improve community life. Past funds have been donated to:
